Plot Summary: " Sarah Tobias (Jodie Foster) goes to her local bar and is gang-raped by three men. The district attorney on the case is Kathryn Murphy (Kelly McGillis) who wants to prove that although Sarah had taken drugs that night and was acting provocatively while in the bar, this is no reason for her to be so brutally attacked and the men responsible should be brought to justice."  Jodie Foster won an academy award for her role in this movie. What makes that so incredible is that the people casting this movie didn't want to cast her in this role because they thought she wasn't sexy enough. They was right, she isn't. But she begged for the role and we already know she can act - damn well, so the rape scene in this movie is one of the most intense you'll ever see in a mainstream film. The thing that is so incredible, is that there are times when you're routing against her and times when you're routing for her. In short, she deserved the award for best actress that year. This movie is based upon a true story.
