"Bad Timing: A Sensual Obsession"

Plot Summary: " A young American woman (Theresa Russell) living in Vienna, is brought to a hospital after overdosing on pills in a suicide attempt. A police detective suspects foul play on the part of her lover, an American psychology professor (Garfunkel). As doctors try to save her life, the detective interrogates the professor, and through flashbacks we see the events leading up to the woman's overdose; her stormy and intensely sexual relationship with the professor, her heavy drinking and numerous affairs, and her estrangement from her Czech husband."  Probably one of Nicolas Roeg's best work as a director, this early 80's filmed was labeled "A sick film, made by sick people for sick people." Yeah that works for us and probably most of our audience. Theresa Russell who many feel is not much of an actress, actually steals this movie with her acting. And Garfunkel is really fucked up as the boyfriend who is sick enough to rape her while she's overdosing on pills. This was and still is a very twisted story but the acting is good, the story is great and the photography is outstanding. This is one of those must films for you library and Amazon has it in stock. This is one of the Criterion Collection DVD's.
