Plot Summary: "Based on the popular diary of the anonymous sex worker known only as Belle de Jour" This UK series premiered on Showtime on June 16, 2008 and based upon the previews, we felt the show had a lot of BDSM promise. First, as a series, based upon the first episode, the series absolutely sucks. This is a classic "Chick's Flick". As for BDSM scenes, it also is lacking. Apparently this has been directed by a women because there isn't one ounce of testosterone in this entire show. We do get to see some guys naked ass - what a big fucking thrill that was and one scene of her riding him like a horse using a riding crop, but that's it. She even fucks with her clothes on which bear no resemblance to any call girl I ever meet. So why are we reviewing it? Well, it's timely and even though Billie Piper is no raving beauty, it still has potential if they get a new director and learn how to sell it to the male audience. We're not giving up that easy. On the other hand, this gives us an opportunity to say "Don't waste your time ordering Showtime to watch this shit." If it ever gets better, we'll let you know and we'll be there. |
