"Dead Calm"

Plot Summary: "An Australian couple take a sailing trip in the Pacific to forget about a terrible accident. While on the open sea, in dead calm, they come across a ship with one survivor who is not at all what he seems."  This is a really good "Damsel in Distress" movie with Nicole Kidman being the damsel who gets roughed up and raped by Billy Zane as he takes over her boat. In many ways this has a foundation to a perfect thriller. The two main characters are sensible and intelligent people who just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Like with every thriller their are a few minor loopholes, but overall the situations are done in a believable fashion with no extreme jumps in logic. The script is tight and the suspense consistent. I thought everyone in the movie did a very good job but most of all Kidman who while being raped by Zane was mentally plotting revenge for him while she was enjoying the sex. I'm not sure who raped whom? I would not want to be on her wrong side. Suspense and sexy and worth watching.
