"Antichrist"

2009 - Dir- Lars von Trier  Cast: Charlotte Gainsbourg, William Defoe, others 

Plot Summary: "A grieving couple retreats to their cabin in the woods, hoping to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse.." May be the best and worst movie of 2009. No one...I mean NO ONE will see this movie and walk away without an opinion. Most will hate it but a few will appreciate what the director was doing in this movie. I'm reminded of the movie "A Clockwork Orange" which I hated on the first viewing. But after the third or fourth time I saw it, I began to fully understand what the movie was about. The same with this movie. It repulses you and yet the movie is stunningly beautiful which is a contraction for the viewer. I think Lars van Trier has  made a masterpiece but I'm not sure anyone will see it...at least, very few people in America will see this movie un-cut and I'm damn sure no theater in the USA will show it. Charlotte Gainsbourg has absolutely put everything she has into the movie including being sexually explicit and she deserves all the accolades that come her way (if any) and William Defoe matches her step for step. This is, by far, his best acting effort to date. All of the videos below are in high definition but be warned, some of these clips will absolutely turn your stomach. I'm already reserving a place in my BDSM home library for the un-cut DVD when it comes out.
