"Normal Life"

Plot Summary: "Chris is young idealistic cop who falls in love and gets married to Pam, a beautiful but emotionally unstable woman who suffers from alcoholism and drug addiction"  Well, first off, this is a "damsel in distress" movie - at least, I think it is. Ashley Judd, who stars as the women who is always looking for a higher high and who abuses her body and everyone around her going through her various problems. Ashley really gets into the role and is nude for some of the more dramatic scenes including where she takes a scissor to her body. The problem with the movie is it's based on a real life situation and the real life couple actually were more evil than the two in this movie.  She's in despair, she's ecstatic, she's drugged out half the time, she plays with her husband's guns. They have sex and she doesn't feel anything, but shows off her great body a lot. The title is obviously ironic and the violence--brutal and sudden--is not the cookie-cutter variety seen in most Hollywood movies but tragic and senseless and awful.
