Plot Summary: "Over the years, a child's romantic ideals about death blossom into necrophilia, the study of embalming and the most profound relationship of her life." This is a movie about necrophilia which is making love to a dead body. It sounds disgusting, but the director Lynne Stopkewich made a masterpiece movie. And Molly Parker, a Canadian actress, won a "Genie" award which is comparable to an academy award for her role in Kissed.  In fact, this is the movie that put Molly on the map and launched her career in movies. This is a chicks movie in some ways because it's about emotion and how Sandra (Parker) helps the dead to cross over to the other side. There is no doubt she is making love (sitting across their faces) with the handsome male corpses that come into the mortuary she works, but for her it's more of a spiritual awakening and something she cannot stop doing which creates problems when she finally falls in love with a guy and he finds jealousy in the way she makes love to the dead. This is a fascinating movie and it deserves our "fetish movie of the year" award.
