BDSM Movie Review - Belle de Jour

Plot Summary: "Severine (Belle de Jour) is a beautiful young woman married to a doctor. She loves her husband dearly, but cannot bring herself to be physically intimate with him. She indulges instead in vivid, kinky, erotic s&m fantasies to entertain her sexual desires. Eventually she becomes a prostitute, working in a brothel in the afternoons while remaining chaste in her marriage." Considered one the the masterpieces of French erotic BDSM cinema, Belle de Jour is part of my top 25 BDSM movies and rightfully so. The beautiful Catherine Deneuve plays a housewife who is filled with BDSM fantasies which she cannot share with her husband. She wants to be humiliated, whipped and treated like a whore. First she lives out these fantasies in her daydreams but then she finally becomes a high priced call girl named Belle de Jour to help her live out the fantasies. The photography is stunning, the woman are beautiful and the BDSM scenes are realistic and erotic. There isn't much nudity in this film because it was made in 1967 and nudity and BDSM did not get past censors at the time. But the style of the film is completely French BDSM and a ten score and even today this is a good watch. I wish the studio would re-release this DVD in an unrated edition. I'm sure they have more explicit nudity of Deneuve than was shown in the original movie and it would make this even more collectable.
