Plot Summary: "Therese/Justine is a beautiful but naive young girl, who finds herself part of outrageous situations, enduring just about every kind of sexual degradation there is while still believing that someone will eventually help her." Justine de Sade is one of my top 25 BDSM movies. First let me tell you that the un-cut 115 mins. DVD edition of this movie is compiled from various sources so it might seem a little disjointed to viewers at times. But that’s secondary to the fact that this is the most complete version of one of the most censored French movies made at the time. It was originally released in a “X” version which it deserved, but was censored by so many different countries that it been a job putting together a complete movie for DVD. In fact, this movie didn’t even show in the US until 1976 – four years after it’s release. And of course, a warning is in order. If you’re not into BDSM, don’t waste your time with this movie. If you are into BDSM, this must be in your home library. This review continues on gallery two. |
