Plot Outline: The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill, walks into her place of employment two years after vampires 'came out of the coffin' on national television." This is an HBO cable TV series which is getting a lot of press. It is an interesting concept - vampires living among the un-dead (us) and drinking a blood type bottle drink to keep from biting people (us). The book was a good read and if you enjoyed the book, you'll probably enjoy the series. One of the advantages of HBO is the nudity and Anna Paquin gives it up for the first time so there is a big audience for that and she is also a "damsel in distress" as you can see below with her vampire lover. We'll be following this series - both Anna and the other female stars who are "damsels in distress." There are 12 (60 minute) episodes in the first season. |
