Plot Outline: Set in the mid 1800s, Christopher (Billy Drago) is a young American journalist who ventures to Japan to search for the Japanese prostitute he loved and abandoned years earlier. But when he ventures to an island off the coast, he sees that human demons and whores rule the land where a deformed courtesan awaits his arrival leading to a tale of extreme cruelty and perverse vengeance." This episode was originally going to be shown on Showtime in January 2006 as part of it's Master of Horror series, but the station banned it shortly before the broadcast. It debuted in America on DVD on September 26, 2006. Now you might assume if it was banned on Showtime it must really be extreme and you would be right. I've said it before and I'll repeat it here, Japanese bdsm is light years ahead of what we're doing in movies in this country. This is simply a delicious movie from beginning to end. Michie Ito stars as the woman who is hung upside down and tortured with hot sticks. Finally she has wood picks put into her lips and gums and under her fingernails. The photography is quite beautiful but if you're not into stylistic BDSM then you won't see it because the scene is explicit in the torture. |
